Pre-Wedding Shoot in Salem
Relaxed, natural couple photographs before the big day — in the hills of Yercaud, by the falls at Hogenakkal, at a temple you love, or right here in Salem.
A pre-wedding shoot is a few unhurried hours for the two of you in front of the camera, months before the wedding. It gives you photographs for invitations, save-the-dates and your wedding-day display, and just as importantly it lets you get comfortable with your photographers before the muhurtham. Impixer has been photographing couples from Salem since 2018 and plans each pre-wedding shoot around the light, the location and how the two of you actually are together.
- Location planning — Yercaud, Hogenakkal, Mettur, temples or city
- Candid, guided posing — no stiff, borrowed poses
- Optional short pre-wedding film or reel
- Edited photos ready for save-the-dates and invites
Locations near Salem that photograph beautifully
Yercaud is the most popular choice — misty viewpoints, coffee estates and lake roads less than an hour away. Hogenakkal gives you waterfalls and rock landscapes, Mettur dam offers wide open water at sunset, and Kolli Hills suits couples who want something quieter. Many Salem couples also choose a temple, an old family house or a favourite cafe, which often makes the most personal photographs. We help you pick a location that suits your story and the season, not just the most photographed spot.
Timing, light and outfits
The best light is in the first two hours after sunrise and the last two hours before sunset, so most shoots are planned around those windows. We suggest two outfits — usually one traditional, one contemporary — and keep outfit changes quick so you are not losing the good light. Plain, rich colours photograph better than busy prints, and comfortable footwear for walking between spots makes the whole day easier.
Not comfortable in front of a camera? Most couples aren't.
You do not need to know how to pose. We guide you with small prompts — walk, talk, turn towards each other — and photograph what happens in between. Within the first half hour almost every couple relaxes, and those photographs are usually the ones you end up framing. That comfort carries into the wedding day, when you already know the people behind the camera.
Pre-wedding, post-wedding or save-the-date
If the months before the wedding are too busy, a post-wedding shoot works just as well — often better, because the pressure is off. A short save-the-date session in Salem is another option when you only need a few photographs for invitations. Pre-wedding or post-wedding coverage is included or offered as an add-on in several of our wedding packages, so ask us when you check your date.
